While Valerie has tremendous abilities to lead organizations, she is acclaimed as a conductor, pianist and organist. Her affiliations include The Church of St Paul the Apostle , Eastern Music Festival, The Greensboro Symphony, and The Smoke Rise Community Church. She regularly works with the finest New York City Musicians and has accompanied many choral conductors including Robert Shaw.
Valerie has donated her time to many non-profit boards including The Economic Empowerment of Women, Enterprising Magazine, The Valley Arts District, Women Impacting Public Policy, Women’s President Organization and Women Business Enterprise National Council. Valerie Shondel is a highly regarded New York City Conductor. Most recently, she founded and conducted the St Paul Choir, St Paul Chamber Ensemble and St Paul Orchestra in NYC. The repertoire spanned from early acapella music, traditional classical choral works and contemporary arrangements by some of todays greatest choral composers.
As a result of the challenges for choral ensembles during COVID, Valerie was able to conduct and oversee production of pre- recorded choral performances to be able to bring streamed music to the internet.

Valerie began studying piano at an early age. Many people say that they regret not having continued with their early music instruction. Valerie could not imagine life without music.
Throughout her career, it has always been of the utmost importance for music to be a part of her being. It is so apparent in her performances as a pianist, conductor and organist; and as a music strategist helping others to successfully share their talents. Music is truly her passion and an inspiration to so many.
Valerie Shondel is highly regarded as an organist. She has most recently held the position as primary organist at The Church of St Paul the Apostle in New York City. Valerie also had the honor of performing at Notre Dame in Paris in 1999.
